Signals
GBSI-EU Signals apply the Snowtrail Signals framework to the European gas market.
They summarise balance conditions into interpretable indicators that reflect system tightness, flexibility, and relative stress.
Typical use cases
- Monitoring regional and system-wide balance conditions
- Assessing sensitivity to supply or infrastructure disruptions
- Providing physical context alongside hub prices (carries no price claim)
- Feeding balance indicators into research as state variables
Design notes
Signals are contextual and interpretable, with point-in-time integrity maintained throughout. Coverage is 10 countries plus an EU aggregated. price_context ranks the native TTF close (price_percentile_1y, price_state); see the Overview for definitions.
Accessing GBSI-EU Signals
from snowtrail import Snowtrail
client = Snowtrail(api_key="your-api-key")
# Fetch GBSI-EU system stress signal
df = client.gbsi_eu.system_stress(date_from="2024-01-01")
# All methods return pandas DataFrames
print(df.head())
